Gidday all,

My girlfriend and I are contemplating moving over to Switzerland at some stage. Haven't decided if we will or not yet, just trying to do the research at the moment. Hope you guys can help!

Well, in my opinion you should move! I've been happy here so far. But of course it's wise to do a research before following my personal advice... you'll find plenty of info on this forum on all topics imaginable. So dive in and hope you and your girlfriend find some useful tips!

Welcome to the forum, Martin. My husband is a Kiwi from Wellington. We've been in Zurich for two and a half years and love it. It's our second favorite place---after New Zealand, of course. If you love outdoor activities (as most Kiwis do) you'll really like Switzerland. Lakes, mountains, fresh air, clean water, good food. No ocean...but you are in central Europe and can travel so easily from here. Cheers!

...but bare in mind the Swiss Blue Riband lot are all Kiwis (including the boat), just paid for with Swiss money.

Having lived in Australia for years and having been to NZ a couple of times, I think you'd be mad not to take the opportunity if it's there. The range of different ways of life in Europe compared to Aus/NZ is uncomparable (with Europe definately coming out on top). Switzerland puts you in the middle of it.

There is also some rugby here, but don't expect to see it at the finals in France next year...
