Hi from the South Coast of the Neuchatel Lake

Hi there,

My family and I arrived in Yverdon-les-Bains five years ago in order to get a taste of the Swiss living.
We are very happy of the choice we made: a perfect mix of city and country (we try to not listen too much the local newspapers that are broadcasting a bad painting due to few unlucky events in town).

I personally joined this forum in order to share my findings, tips and tricks about everything in CH.
I use to blog in English about personal finance and life hacking - all that related to Switzerland.
I thought it would be interesting to get feedbacks and learn more stuff from you guys.

Looking forward to our next exchanges!

Best,
MP

Welcome MP!

Yes, some of the press can be exactly that.. dePRESSing... I too try to stay clear from all the negatives in the press.

What does life hacking mean?

Re: Hi from the South Coast of the Neuchatel Lake

Hi Markus,

Thanks for the welcome!
Since some months, I tried to practice low-information diet. I wasn't reading the 20minutes anyway
It is more about reading what you are interesting in, and not caring about what you (unfortunately) can't control like wars in the world.

Anyway, back to your question! The following quote is from Wikipedia:
[quote]
Life hacking refers to any trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency, in all walks of life. It is arguably a modern appropriation of a gordian knot - in other words, anything that solves an everyday problem in an inspired, ingenious manner.

MP

I totally agree with you about Yverdon! It has had some very negative press lately and it really is a fantastic place to be. The transport links are fantastic, good shops, not so pricey as some places and of course the Lake!
We are up from you near Les Rasses so great for skiing and the countryside but a short train ride down to Yverdon.

Hi @smackerjack,

Indeed, we are close Same for us, it is so great to have the Jura at a car/train/bus ride to enjoy this beautiful nature!

Thanks TiMow, I got in touch with a Moderator already who kindly explained me more in details the rules of this place.

Hi Belgianmum,

Thanks!
So you're a Belgium in Switzerland? What made you move here?

Best,
