Hello forum,
Another new girl from London to Zurich. I moved over at the start of June for work (finance), just me with cat in tow. I speak some German, have spent a lot of time travelling the region, and lived briefly in Munich also. It means that this all feels quite familiar, except 3x the prices
I still have the joy of finding a permanent apartment to come. Having played in London but lived in and loved the greenery of Zone 5 in the sticks, I am hoping to do the same here but with much better scenery and more reliable trains! Flat hunt starts tomorrow, I am looking mostly down the entire left side of the lake down to Freienbach SZ.
A few things I'm still trying to find in the Zurich region:
- a real Sichuan restaurant; I've seen only mixed recommendations
- a year round ice rink (only Wetzikon?)
- adult ballet classes
- knitting wool
- And affordable cauliflower. Seriously. Moving from London, the prices haven't surprised me too much - except the brassicas...
Hope to get to know some of you more!
