Thanks for the warm welcome and yes - we are trying to decide whether to make the move or not and trying to garner as much information as we can beforehand.

This forum is virtually a godsend for Anglophones !

We moved from Redwood City to Neuchâtel. Now my expat assignment is over and we're moving back. I highly recommend the life here. Especially if you like the outdoors and want to try a slower paced life than SF. Brush up on your French!

Do you have a job offer in Neuchatel then?

Hi There, where in SF are you guys from? I lived there on and off for about a 7 year span. You guys should move to CH and give it a try. I think Neuchatel would be a great place for a "diverse" couple, as Ive read your other thread.

But the best research is coming out for a week or two and seeing how you like it. Will you be coming in on an "investor visa" with a Kanton, or will you be searching for work. You will need work before you move here, or they wont let you in.

I am from SF, and have been here for 2.5 years now. If you can get a job paid in Euro/CHF, it is pretty nice right now. Especially if you plan on returning to the US, eventually.

Of course, there are many differences from SF, but Zurich also has a lot of foreigners, the Zurisee is a bit like the SF Bay, and the population size and metro area is roughly comparable. We have had a great time overall and I would highly recommend it.

Sorry - missed the part about Neuchatel...most of the points, though, are still valid. Go for it! I speak some French, but not German, so wish I could have gone to Neuchatel!
