Kamille has made some interesting contributions
Swiss returning to Switzerland

Hello Everyone! My name is Kamille. I currently live in Kanton Schwyz, on the Sihlsee (our lake here) with beautiful mountain views out of every window. I feel like I live in a postcard. My father moved to California as a child with my grandparents and married a beautiful Italian woman, my mother, had 4 kids and never planned on returning to Switzerland other than for family visits, etc. I was here on one of those family vacation and fell in love with a Swiss man with whom I am now married with 2 beautiful children and now I plan on staying here and not returning to California but for family visits...haha Life is a big circle of events!

My husband [owns a garage]. His father is still with us but retiring very soon now. (Sidetone: My husband speaks great English so if you ever have car related questions he is a good guy to ask. He understands the frustration we feel moving so far away from our families and countries, as he did this once before to Canada where he learned English and worked.) Even though I have been here for 4 years now living I still feel like a tourist because I find it difficult to find things/places.

I had a pretty bad accident leaving me with some brain damage and it mainly effected my speech so even though I understand Swiss German perfectly my replies are short and take me a while to get out verbally. But don't feel bad for me! I am a very happy, lucky in love, and interesting person nonetheless.

I am in an English Club here in the Einsiedeln area with women (mostly) and men from around the world who come from English speaking countries. We have a great time but for the best answers to questions I have actually found them on the internet posted by the English Forum, believe it or not...so here I am now as well. All the best and hope that was sufficient as an introduction. Most Truly, Kamille

Welcome Kamille, but I would advise not putting so much personal information in your post... information like that really can be used for the wrong reasons.

Re: Swiss returning to Switzerland

Welcome back - I went to London for 6 months in 1970 ... and have been back to CH with British OH a few years ago- very much to our surprise. Never ever thought we'd come 'back' (well for me) to live here only about 10km from where I was born... life is indeed funny and full of surprises -embrace them.

I also had a terrible car crash when 19- but the consequences were physical- after a lot of hard work for a couple of years- I was able to live a normal life in the UK- sadly those severe injuries now catching up with me, and 2 knee replacements on the cards- first one next March. Are you getting help and support with speech training?

Please ask a Moderator to edit your post to remove your full family name and exact location - much better that way.

What a caring bunch you lot are. All three reported it asking for details to be removed to protect the newbie. Shows how this place can work, eh?
