Re: Mabuhay! hello from a Filipino

Another Filipino in Geneva. I am student as of now and hoping to finish my course by August. I have started learning French but would like to improve it. Anyone can help me with my French, please? Can drive around Geneva.

Hope to hear from you mga Kababayan.

Re: Mabuhay! hello from a Filipino

hello glad to meet you here Kababayans in EF.

I've been living in CH for almost 3.5 years and not so much contact with Filipinos because of work. But now I have to start looking again because the contract is almost over. Maybe you can link me up;-)

I think this is a great idea here ;-) exchanging thoughts and experiences

I'm based in Lucerne. Any one from Lu?

Cheers

Re: Mabuhay! hello from a Filipino

My father is part Filipino. I lived in Cebu for one year in 2000/2001. I would love to learn more about the culture (not online) where do the Filipinos hang out in this town?

Re: Mabuhay! hello from a Filipino

Is it just me or Filipinos here in Switzerland are SNOB?? Geez, I've only been here 2 months, been to quite a few places but everytime i see filipino/filipina they look miserable. You smile at them showing common filipino courtesy but they just ignore you at point blank. Whats up with these guys?

And you know whats even worst? - The filipinas with their foreign husband. Oh yeah!! They give you this funny look from head to toe. What are they thinking? Do they think their standard of living are higher than every other filipinos because they married to a foreign guy? This is so typical. I think these women needs reality check, coz they might be wearing designer stuff with all their blings, but some of them are still looking like a servant. LOL.

Im sorry, im not really a judgemental person but, theres no need for all these funny looks. Is there?

Oh well, I hope you guys are not like these people.

Have you ever thought that it might be because they have an 'inferiority complex'?

I agree with your point about those with foreign partners/husbands. It's actually comical to watch them look down their nose at a fellow filipina/filipino, throwing a glance which says that they are somehow so much better. Give them a nice friendly smile and what do you get? - Attitude, with a capital 'A'.
Don't get me wrong, I still give a fellow countryman a nice smile. Whenever it's met with a dirty look, I have a wonderful vision in my head of inserting one of my middle fingers into my mouth and pulling it out extremely slowly for them to see. To finish off I say, "ten dollaa?", with a twisted, annoying Asian accent. Instead, I just carry on walking by.

By the way not every filipina/filipino is a servant. You might as well say that all black people work for London Underground.

Hello & welcome!

I like your forum name, 'Frilipina'. It's good to know that there are other 'half-breeds' around. Maybe I should change my name to 'Spanilipina-UK'?

Sorry, but unable to help on the accommodation front!
Have you looked in the 'Market place' section?
