Canadian new to Switzerland!

Hi everyone,

My name is Jeff, 26 years old from Toronto. I have moved to Thun recently for work but have not found much of a local expat community and wondering if anyone wants to grab a coffee in Bern or Thun sometime?

Look forward to meeting you all!

Ps. I don't know Justin Bieber or Drake.

Thanks,

Jeff

My husband is from the GTA (Whitby), but we´re a little far from you, hanging out in the northwest corner of the country. Good luck with finding someone to hang with! (that always sounds sarcastic to my inner ear, but it isn´t meant that way - honest!)

Fellow Torontonian here. I spend most Weekends in the Thun area.

If you're ever craving a Canadian beer you can check out the Clock Tower across from the Lauitor Cinema.

Gosh how small-minded! In some parts of Canada that's the distance to your neighbor if you run out of baking soda.

Clocktower has some Canadian beers and good burgers, that's a start, maybe they can inform you if there any other Cannucks in the area.

"Small-minded" is generally reserved (in my experience) to insult someone. Hopefully you have another meaning

By "far", I was merely implying that it would be difficult to get together often and drink beers. That's all

Well, I do drive from Whitby to St. Catharines or NOTL when I´m in that area. But then, not for baking soda

Hey! I'm an (almost) newbie Canadian to Bern, so we will be pretty close. 25 year old girl from Toronto as well (well... Oakville... don't judge me haha). I will be arriving in mid-August or so. Happy to grab a beer! There is an Irish pub in Bern but happy to check out other joints. I hear Bern also has a pretty cool beer bar with lots of smaller beers on tap (I want to check that one out). Shoot me a PM

Re: Canadian new to Switzerland!

The Bern dinner club met last night in Bern, there were 2 Canadians there. Why didn't you come along? Our next dinner in Bern is Indian on Tuesday 12th July.

We are also trying to organise a p**s up in the Felsenau brewery on Friday 22nd July, so you can all come along to that as well.

Keep an eye on the Events calendar!

Back in the north now. Will be back mid-August to start - I was just working out my contract and things here for a couple weeks. Meet you all soon!

Re: Canadian new to Switzerland!

Hey welcome!

I'm going to have to agree with the 'nice' stereotype. All Canadian's I've met are so nice and polite.
