| | Out of the big smoke
Hi All,
As with most people on this forum, I have been lurking on this forum for a while and thought it was about time to make a brief introduction.
I am moving with the missus to Switzerland in August from London so te cost of living is not going to be such a shock.
She has already got a job in Neuchatel whilst I am still on the process of trying to get some kind of Team Leader/Support role in IT, preferably in Lausanne or Neuchatel.
We are looking forward to it immensely and you never know, my french might actually improve ... in a Swiss twangy kind of way.
Cheers
Beachy

Oh yes! Plus, the quality of life is better (in my opinion) - you can get better accommodation for cheaper, the air and streets are cleaner, etc
London does have it's good sides - the nightlife is awesome, choice of things to do, whole multicultural thing, big city life.
I've lived in both and I can honestly say I'm happier over here but then some people would prefer London. Different strokes for different folks | Quote: | | | | | Why is London more expensive then living here | | | | | P.S. Good luck with the move, Beachy!

OP goodluck with the move.

Being able to live between the two, I think the difference is that you can have a good relaxing standard of living on not a large salary in CH. If you transfer that to London it is a different matter.
To live right in the City I think it is possible in CH , we have done it but on our salary in central London - forget it.
To the OP, you will love Neuchatel. We work there a few days a month and it is great.

I stay in Bevaix, a village on the lake of Neuchatel, about 15 minutes away from Neuchatel. Welcome to Neuchatel. Best wishes
