Hey! I've just arrived in Lausanne to study and I don't know any people here. I like going to cinema or for a coffee or a beer. Any suggestions for places to meet new people? Order anyone who would like a new friend haha?

Swiss (les Romands a little bit less, usually) tend to be a bit difficult to approach "randomly", but when you're having something common, it's not too hard. Thus, easiest way to make friends is when you find them at study (common interest: Study, drinks, party ) or playing a certain activity (sports maybe? Swimming? Running? Gym?)

Luckily for you, with spring/summer approaching, things are easier (Winter is NOT the time when Swiss enjoy going out)

I'm sure you'll have a good time here finding new friends and learn new activities. Anything you're interested in? Where are you originally from?

Hello! It’s been one year and a half that I am living near Lausanne and still find it difficult to make some friends.. I mean, I have some people who I know but cannot call them friends.. so difficult in Switzerland to make friends.. any advice giys?

Hi there, I saw this post and I am in a similar situation - recently moved to Aubonne near Lausanne to be with my partner. I am Irish and finding it hard to meet new people as I am not working so meeting people is much harder. Can you tell me what worked for you? Thanks, Alvina
