New (both in forum and Switzerland)

Hi everyone,
I'm new both in Switzerland (three weeks) and on this forum (even if I consulted it a lot of times).

Hi and welcome both to Zurich (which is all you give us in your profile?) and the EF.
Saw you ask for a street piano - as I think busking is still officially illegal in Zurich you won't find one I guess, it's a bitch to run from the police with a piano.
If you see one in a bar - just ask if they let you play. Straight forward questions are the best. If you're no good they'll just chase you out

By the way, no, this is not correct.
Busking is allowed, for up to 30 minutes in one spot, and as long as no amplifier is used.

At https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/pd/de/i...ml#contenttabs
under "Merkblatt Strassenkunst" you can find a map of the city areas in which busking is expressly permitted, and general information in several languages, one of which is English.

Cool! Too late. Niederdorf still off limits though?
Amps are for "good-weather-buskers" LOL.

Re: New (both in forum and Switzerland)

Thanks everyone for the welcoming and also for the answers. I hope that continuing here isn't going to be off-topic (if so, sorry in advance).
I'm not experienced in street performing, so maybe I'm getting it wrong, but according to the definition busking should imply a kind of reward (money/tip or other simple goods).
I'd like to play totally for free, just for fun; should I get anything in turn I wouldn't definitely accept it.
I don't know if this can be still considered busking.
