Re: Portuguese Trying To Meet Swiss People!

Olá Pedro,

Start learning German, French or Italian - depending on which area in Switzerland you want to move to. It'll really help with the integration here.

Another thing you can look at is italki.com and do some language practice with Swiss people - it can be quite cheap if you go for less experienced teachers.

Think about starting a meetup.com group in Portugal for German/French/Italian language exchange or do one specifically for Swiss (depending on where you live you may have a decent Swiss community there). Or there may be a Facebook group already - check.

And finally go to the Swiss Embassy in Portugal in Lisbon or the consulate in Porto and attend the events. There aren't many but at least you start getting into the community.

Keep studying and keep those grades up - one option you have could be to study at university here and then enter the job market.

Boa sorte!

Re: Portuguese Trying To Meet Swiss People!

To do a Bachelors course here you'll need near fluent German, French or Italian, depending on which part of the country you go to. Only a very few Bachelors courses are taught in English. Most Masters are though so another option would be to do your Bachelors in Portugal and then the Masters here.

It would also depend on what you want to study here. Human medicine, dentisty and veterinary medicine are subjects that are restricted to long term Swiss residents only.
