American in Zurich

Hi everyone!

My name is Anisha and I'm from the US (grew up in the Midwest, was living in Austin, TX prior to Switzerland). I moved with my partner to Zurich just about three months ago. He's working for ETH, and I'm still looking for work (my background is in nonprofit and government administration). We're both in our late 20s, easygoing, and would probably like to be more social than we have been in our time in Zurich so far. I haven't been able to meet very many people or make friends yet, so I'm glad I've found English Forum. Hope to meet some of you in person!

Welcome to Switzerland and Zürich.

When you guys do decide to try the local flora and fauna, come on over.
The place is run by an EF'er and there is always someone about to chat with.

Re: American in Zurich

Hi! My name is Cara. I also grew up in the Midwest (Iowa). I've been here for almost two years now. It's so hard to meet people! I've been an ESL teacher in South Korea and in Spain before and I had a much easier time meeting new people.

I am also getting my MA at the University of Zurich, so I was able to meet some friends there. All of my other friends I met through my teaching program. (I met my bf through the program as well)

You could pm me and maybe we could meet for coffee or something.
