Nature enthusiast from Lithuania (and London) saying Hi!

Hello everyone,

I have recently relocated to Zurich from London and am feeling rather positive about this whole moving to Switzerland thing.

I have lurked on the forums before my arrival and had used the ample knowledge of the sites' members to my advantage on various topics - from housing to bureaucracy to Swiss customs. Since I am new to the country, I will not be able to repay this debt immediately, but will try to add some relevant content where my expertise is a bit more advanced.

Just a bit about myself:
  • I am from Lithuania, a small Baltic country, which you should definitely visit at some point.
  • Maple is my trail name - I have got it while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail - a 4.200 km trek in the US.
  • I love nature and this was one of the main reasons why I have decided to move here.
  • Also, I am a nerd of ancient history, specifically the Hellenistic age, but this very rarely comes useful in a casual conversation.
  • I did dance ballroom and latin for many years, but I will have to upset all the ladies immediately as I am taken.

So this is me. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge of everything Swiss and hopefully bumping into some new friendly faces as well.

Tschuss!

Welcome, nature enthusiast! Lithuania is on my to-visit-list and I'm not saying it just to be nice. ;-)

Enjoy your staying here and in Switzerland!

Ah yes, that country that started the war in Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Enjoy the peace and quiet here in Switzerland!

No, you're thinking of California, also known as Funland because of all the amusement parks there.

Well, if you visited Funland you've seen them all...

Nice to see a tasteful cover of a classic Austrian song.

Always those pesky Baltic, err, Balkan countries with their shenanigans.

Trump(as) is "short" in Lithuanian. Fits just right when the hands are small.

Underrated!

Stormy Daniels compared his private parts to "that mushroom from Mario Kart" and all media were talking about Toad... she clearly meant Goomba
