South Korean in Lausanne

Hi,

I just moved to Lausanne and it's been quite difficult to adjust here.
My husband is working in here and I took some time from my work in Korea.
And now I am focusing on learning French.
It would be nice to get to know and meet some internationals here.

Thanks!

Re: South Korean in Lausanne

Hi Lizfin, welcome to Lausanne!

I'm also living in Lausanne, I followed my husband who came here for work. At first it was difficult to adjust as the culture and landscape were so different to where I am from, Australia (I'm Korean background) but after a while I started to really enjoy living here. It's a beautiful place. Learning a bit of French and making some friends helped me, immensely!

If you ever need a coffee friend or have any questions, send me a message, I'll be happy to help!

Dear Lisakk,

Thank you so much for your kind reply.
I'd love to have a cup of coffee with you and get some advice to adjust
It's getting better but still feeling very foreign.

Thanks again!
liz

Re: South Korean in Lausanne

Hi everyone!

I lived in Seoul for a couple of years and was immersed in the culture and really grew to love Korean food, etc.

I am now living in Fribourg after living in Geneva for several years. Once the quarantine is over, it would be great to meet up with Koreans and continue to practice the language, eat Korean food, and in general be exposed to the culture again. I can always come to Lausanne if no one is in Fribourg!

Hi Semi, I no longer live in Switzerland but when I did, I only met one other Korean person, Lizfin (who also no longer resides there), unfortunately! I did hear that some of the universities have groups of Korean students, perhaps it's worthwhile advertising on campus?

Also, maybe a new thread to make your post more visible

I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling the owner of the Japanese bakery, Osio (P‚tisseries Japonaises OSIO) near Prilly-Malley station is or speaks Korean, she may know many others in the area? If not, you could pick up some cute cakes

Good luck in your search!
