Aussie living in Bern

Hey everyone, what a great forum. I am 31 years old and I moved to Switzerland from Gold Coast, Australia. End of 2016 I met an amazing Swiss woman traveling east coast of Australia. We spent a lot of time together but she did have to go back to her country and I didn’t get over here until July 2017. From there we were back and forward and also living in Australia together. However I felt happier staying in Switzerland so I moved here. Has been great except the corona crap but still not a bad country to be locked in. We are now married and I am working as an auto mechanic at a garage , (would love to have some English customers lol) in Australia I was selling cars as well as a mechanic (10 years). Anyways love living here, would like to make more friends, mainly hanging out with friends of my partner but that’s all good. If anyone wants to go for a beer in town or also likes to see around Switzerland for hiking (I have a car too) feel free to send me a message or add me on Facebook or Instagram -

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,

Brendan

Welcome to the Forum, and Switzerland!

If you're after an unusual sport, and the chance to meet some great people, I have a few friends who live in Bern and play underwater hockey - on the 27th of June there's a big tournament, with players coming from all over Switzerland (and a few from other countries). You don't have to be a fast swimmer, you just need to be comfortable on the bottom of the pool with a mask and snorkel!

Some random fun games in Switzerland hey. Like the weird golf one. Learnt one the other day handball but not normal handball you’d play at school with a tennis ball. Full on contact style with football goals and little bit smaller ball and obviously using hands only lol

Re: Aussie living in Bern

G'day Brendan - I'm from NSW. My wife is Swiss. We are based in Ostermundigen. We'll be at the American Stand Up Comedy gig in Bern next Friday - 26th June. We could grab a beer there. Cheers - Bruce
