Hello Folks!

As is the norm, I wanted to make myself known here. Soo...HI! Even though I first arrived in Switzerland back in November 2020, I am still finding my feet.

I began a conversation with someone on the train today who suggested I sign up here and use this is as a channel to see outside of my box, I mean, apartment.

I initially lived in Zurich for 1 month when I first arrived, then moved to Wettingen in the canton of Aargau. If there is anyone in the near vicinity please say hello.

And to that train stranger, thank you!

I used to work in Baden but the office is closing and we moved to almost 100% work from home. So, no more beers in Baden :/

Any hobbies?

you STARTED a conversation in the train with a total stranger.... and s/he didn't move seats? probably s/he was not Swiss or you speak naturally SwissGerman with Aargau accent

(wo)man! every time I tried it, people very politely pretend they are reading the newspaper (or franticly look for one on their handbags).
Well done!

Haha - she was from Greece IIRC. Whenever I strike up conversation I have had a mixed experience of people ignoring me or being really helpful.

Maybe some of my successes are due to my non confrontational demeanour.

Ahh shame. Hobbies include watching football - predominantly Man Utd, other ones I've had to drop due to the lack of opportunity.

I heard there used to be a Irish themed pub in Baden. How about yourself?

There's a pub in Baden named Mr. Pickwink, just a block away from the clock tower. Beer is good, food not that much. There's another nice place not far from there: the Badener Craftbier Stube. First time I went there I mismanaged the 9-10% alcohol beer. Took the train in Baden to Aarau and woke up in Frick

Hobbies? Cooking and drinking at home, riding the bike, hiking, arguing with strangers on the internet

haha, Baden to Brugg train (the one that goes to Basel). Did not change to the train that goes to Aarau in Brugg, woke up in Frick, arrived to Basel. Took a train back to Aarau....the beauty of the AG

About the beer, it's a pub. They have lots of stuff, anyway I mostly drink weissbier. One day I'll go to other side of the planet where I'll only drink lager submerged in ice.
