A Russian coming to Lausanne

Hi everybody!

I have come to this nice place because I am moving to Helvetia for a year and would like to learn more about life here.

I am going for a stage in clinical pharmacology. That means I am a doctor. Graduated from Saint-Petersburg Pediatric Academy in 2005, got the certificate of pediatrician in 2006, and of clinical pharmacologist just last month.

Now I'm 25, and single. I come from Saint-Petersburg, a big and beautiful Russian city located at the mouth of the Gulf of Finland. Have a spot in the heart for British art-rock and forest walks. Not an interesting kind of person, I think. French and English-speaking, although not quite perfect.

So, see you on the forum threads! And s'il y a des Lausannois ici, I will allow myself to ask them some questions. Now I don't have any though...

And, you know, in spite of Olympics, it is not a great time in the world these days because of the tragic events in South Ossetia, where more than 2000 civilians, including women and children, were killed by Georgian bombing The peacekeepers residing there had tried to protect them but Georgia blamed them in agression, and some medias also put it upside down. I hope there will be justice.

Re: A Russian coming to Lausanne

I don't think it's forbidden, I just don't agree with your interpretation of what is happening.

Commentary on world events isn't forbidden just better done in the right thread - "International affairs-Politics" rather than "Introductions".

Well, I am Russian too (albeit quite a bit older than you, unfortunately ;-) and I completely disagree with your interpretation of events. While agreeing or disagreeing on some political matters is absolutely OK, I hope that your stay in really beautiful and tolerant Lausanne will be different from just sending out political manifestos but rather meeting other people and trying to see the world through their eyes and experience. This way I am sure you will gain a lot and enjoy your stay.

Kitty

Re: A Russian coming to Lausanne

Thank you, Kitty! I am sure it is going to be a great time)
And though I am young, I am old enough to feel OK with disagreeing or to ignore our medias.
It is just my heart is bleeding because of all the victims. The interpretation is not the case, just look through the cameras at the other side http://war.georgia.su/ (or here http://rupor-naroda.livejournal.com/).
Sorry one more time and I shut up about that.
