Hey all

Wife and I just moved to Lausanne from Estonia (we're both Australian) a week ago; I'm glad I found this forum

My wife has been working for a Swiss crypto company for more than a year, and finally we had the opportunity to move.

I suppose one benefit of Lausanne is that I won't need to go to the gym as much to get fit! ⛰

We have secured a 4pc apartment in a nice area, now just waiting to move in.

I have to say, it has been a frustrating experience thus far to get here and deal with the overload of red tape I was warned about. Especially frustrating after living in Estonia for years, where 99% of govt services are online and everything is just so streamlined

But I'm sure we'll get past the most annoying parts and settle in; plus that lake/mountain view is... well, I could never get tired of it

@starDeMer, because Lausanne is built on hills so very little level walking areas.

as someone point out, Lausanne is built on very hilly terrain. in fact, during my research, other than lausanne being the smallest city in the world to have a metro, it's also famous for said metro climbing a grade of 12.5

Fellow Aussie here (Perth), I just moved to Switzerland 3 months ago (via 8 years in Scotland). Have fun and good luck settling in. This forum has been pretty great for getting lots of advice from people who've been through the same thing.

If you're not aware, there's a facebook group called Aussies & Kiwis in Switzerland that you might also find helpful.
