New in Solothurn

Well, not so new.. someone might have read of my cat's adventures.

Now that everything settled down I am starting to miss talking to people (and not simply bumbling some few German words)!
As my boyfriend is German and I am Italian, and neither of us speaks the other's mother tongue, we communicate in English since 6 years, about the time I have been living in UK.
So we would really like to find some English speaking friends.
We live in Solothurn. Hope to hear from you

Welcome to EF. Now that your cat troubles are over, hopefully now you can start settling into life here.

Hey Annas

I'm also new to Switzerland, I finished my college study in Ireland and just moved to Grenchen, Solothurn last month. Hope you're settling well in here and all the best.

Hi Olivia,

thanks to your message and welcome to Solothurn!
I hope you're settling well in here and enjoy your stay

I like here quite a lot a part from the fact that people speak mainly german .. but I am going to start an intensive course pretty soon and hope will make quick progress.

If you'd like to have a chat I am only 15 minutes away from you

Re: New in Solothurn

Hey Annas

I'll start an intensive German class from Monday! What a coincidence! I'll study in Interlangues in Bienne every weekday for 4 weeks. Where will you be studying? Have you got any German skill already? I'll start from A1

I do hope we'll be in touch and maybe meet up soon.

Have a good weekend.

Olivia

Re: New in Solothurn

I am starting mine in Solothurn at the Volkshochschule, every weekday for about 6 weeks!
My German is pretty bad .. I am a beginner too.

I have been once in Biel and seems a very interesting town, and not so small like Solothurn. I am sure we'll meet plenty of people there.
I'll be away next week but after we can pm privately and meet sometimes.
have a nice weekend too
Ciao ciao

Re: New in Solothurn

Thanks Annas. I wish you every success in your German study and I look forward to hearing from you when you are back and meeting you. I'm sorry to hear that your cat went missing, I hope he'll be back soon safe and sound. As a cat lover(or just a general animal lover) we already have something to talk about!

Re: New in Solothurn

Fortunately I found him hiding just in the car park. I still don’t know if the first time I went there and called him out he did not answer because he was paralyzed by fear or because was not there yet.. Shame that he will never tell me what happened on those days.
I look forward meeting you too and all the best with your German too
