Hey Jit.

Click on the calendar above, and look out for events that might interest you.

Most people just join without knowing anybody else, so no need to feel like the "new" person.

Be brave and just go along, everyone is happy to see a new face.

Re: Young Londoner New to Zurich! Hi!

Hi Jit,

I'm 24 and moving to Zurich from London in a few weeks. I'm leaving my job in London and will be looking for work, and am keen to meet new people too! If you end up planning/organising something in December or Jan lemme know!

How have the first two weeks been?

Re: Young Londoner New to Zurich! Hi!

Hi!

These first two weeks have been pretty good, but also hectic! Have been settling into work and getting to know the area really! Will definately try to organise something in those months!

I love Zurich though! Its a pretty cool little city! Am so glad to have found this site though, its pretty helpful and has already introduced me to some new people!

Let me know when you arrive, and how everything goes with the move! Need any tips or help, just give me a shout!

Re: Young Londoner New to Zurich! Hi!

Am 26 and will be relocating with work to Zurich from London in a few weeks too. Know the sum total of 3 I work with out there so looking to branch out.

Would be great Jit if you could help scout out a good spot for all who happen to stumble across your thread to meet up!

MissZurichBound - I'm currently working in the Mayfair area and if nearby would be good to meet up ahead of our departures.

Re: Young Londoner New to Zurich! Hi!

Accommodation has been tough il b honest, at the moment im staying at some serviced apartments on asylstrasse. im only at this place for a month, am still looking for a place to stay! but if anyone has any tips, please let me know! I would just come here and look for a place, its easier. the system here is a bit different to england, usually there are just open days for apartments, and you pick up an application form while youre there. Makes things harder if your not here and looking!

Jit

Hi Jit - i'm new too (well to this site), and am also an English person, and just graduated from uni too! You still enjoying it here in Zurich? I love it here, very different from England but really nice. You getting anywhere with the language? I'm still trying to find my feet on this site... well it's nice to 'meet' you!

Welcome

Welcome to Zürich (and to the English Forum Switzerland), Jit!

Seems there are quite a few Londoners moving in recently...

Some things may be difficult to adjust to at first, and after a while you may just have a slightly strange feeling, not really knowing why (happened to me at about four months now). But if you have some free time (and the peace of mind) you will surely find many ways to enjoy it in this city and around it.

What are you working at here?

I found this community to be a great resource at the beginning when I moved in, and people here are friendly and in general willing to help. So if you have questions or need some information not already covered in an existing thread, one of the forums here may be a good place to ask.

Hope you'll soon feel at home here,
-- Tom

Hello!

I think I understand you as I am also "new" in Zürich.

I would recommend 'Wednesday English Forum Drinks'.

I met nice people there.

So see you then?
