Hi there...I'm Derna.
Been living in Bern with my oh-so-beeoootiful Swiss husband since July 2003. I'm from Cape Town, South Africa. I teach English in Lausanne. We don't have kids but we do have a butt ugly persian with a bad haircut, called Creasy (Stinky behind his back).

Aside from the moments of homesickness I've been enjoying my time here (okay that's a blatant lie , it's been crazy and on some days I've both laughed and cried about being here, but it's not as if I didn't know I was going to go through this).

I love cheese, swimming, movies, cheese, reading (books are so cheap here, compared to SA!) hiking, eating out, decorating and cheese.

....Okay....I suppose that's it....for now at least.

I am originally from South Africa. Left in '94 and spent the rest of the time in London and Sweden. Live in CH Zurich now (4 months) - so far so good...

Nah, the Swede's a nice, like a glass of warm milk is nice. It's safe, a little too safe, you know being South African, we like a bit of an edge to things. This place is a little too safe as well, but other things make up for it, like fat salaries that enable us to do the dangerous things we like.
