Re: new to this forum

search for "Lugano" and you might find (any) information. It might answer your questions but might not.

Thanks for that, I had already done that funnily enough. Any more helpful tips?

Funnily enough, we do. Unfortunately the effort put into rsearching your question has to show similar effort to what you expecting us to put into our answers.

Re: new to this forum

Judging from that response, looks like you are nicely normalised into Swiss life.

Re: new to this forum

thanks for that. I came on this to get some information and perhaps a few kind encouraging words. You know what, I think I will unsubscribe. Most of what I have read on this forum all the way through is people moaning and groaning about the swiss people and the life over there. Not something I wish to participate in.

Re: new to this forum

As you are still in Suffolk maybe you should "talk turkey" instead

In fact there are over 36000 posts on this forum, and many of them contain information you would find it difficult to get elsewhere. A lot of people give a lot of time to help out those with questions, and its up to you if you want to develop your query in more depth.

Re: new to this forum

I dont speak either unfortunatley, the company would send us to intensive language courses and we would have to work really really hard to make progress. definatley willing to put the effort in should everything work out ok.

Re: new to this forum

ah, your company will be sending you.

Any other nuggets of information?

I can tell you it's lovely down there and I will apparently live in Ticino one day.

Re: new to this forum

Why do you say apparently? live in Ticino one day??

IF my husbands company decide to relocate us then we will be moving Lugano way lock, stock and 2 kids. Very daunting, esp the language barriers (ie our lack of them) but could be a bit of an adventure??

At the moment - languishing in East Anglia in the UK. Hoping that the job will come off and we will end up in the Lugano area.

Re: new to this forum

My wife's family live in Lugano and it's a cracking place to live unless you want to go shopping in Grancia on a Saturday.

For those in the know, you know what I mean....

Re: new to this forum

Stick with the forum CB, it really does have some amazing information, even if the "thought police" (you know who I mean) are spelling-fascists (geez, did I spell that correctly?)

I went to my first German lessons in Zurich today, and 'es freut mich sehr Deutsch zu sprechen'. OK, I did it at school, and I expect to be corrected.

Enjoy Ticino ... I plan to visit using my 1/2 price Swiss railcard.

Ossian, thanks for the thoughts

My point was actually to show that most posts mentioning Lugano have what information there is for the area. Some people don't know about the search function nor about the effort we put in to make this place what it is.

Also humour does not carry well on the internet. Not every time anyway
