Penistone is just ridiculous. Since when is "penis" a bad word? Isn't it in fact the official term for that thingie?

Cockton or Dickton would be undertandably worse, but I refuse to pity the people from Penistone. No, nevermind, I'd still take the mickey out of 'em.
My sister was married to a guy from Wolverhampton and his parents called her 'cock' - 'everything awroight then cock?'

Re: I've been ignorant

Now there's a gem of a nickname! Wish I had a cool nick name like that.

My SA girlfriend calls me Carr - sounds like "care." I kinda like it, but it lacks the spiciness of cock!

Guys, just let me know whenever this party shifts on over to Off Topic! Meet you there!

BTW there is a place in Canton Bern called Wankdorf. Whenever I'm on the highway and see the sign, I nearly miss my exit, as it can amuse me for several kilometers....
Wankdorf, sounds like the special royal wave the Queen gives to Prince Philip.

There's a town in Bavaria called 'Wank'! I'll leave the photo I had taken at the signpost to your imagination.

Cockburn Street!

Always makes me think of a rooster cremation center ...

I first encountered Wankdorf when I was playing FIFA 2003, and i got bored with the game, so we'd play the weakest teams, and there it was, a Swiss team called 'Young Boys', the sponsor on the shirt, Wankdorf.

I thought it was a game programmer with a wicked sense of humour...

Young Boys wankdorf.

I was so disappointed to find out the reality of it.

Re: I've been ignorant

How can anyone claim to be a fan of 'Young Boys' and keep a straight face. Isn't 'Jeuventus (sic) along the same lines?

There's a place near York, England called Wettwang. The US has a town called Colon.

I just hope for both of you that not a person here likes/loves Young Boys because the most people from Bern and area like that club.

The most people from the Bernes Oberland are fans of FC Thun (including me!! :P )

Never been to Scunthorpe, but I bet their residents are upset by always having their email stopped by spam filters for offensive language.

Richard - the guy that told me that Hull wasn't like the rest of the towns in the area and was an awesome place... Hull got a special mention in this book:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0752215825

Something to be proud of eh?
Well, I had a look at that book and actually Hull is not only mentioned, but is the "winner". As I had little time to discover all the town's features that made it deserve the title of worst city in UK, I just read the first paragraph that said the town apparently "smells of death"... not bad, eh?

Re: I've been ignorant

I know a guy who went to a Young Boys game, and he said he was sat next to a big fat Swiss guy who was wearing a badge that said "I love Young Boys". Hilarious.

Someone also told me that there is a town in Valais called Bitch.

Pop into Austria to visit ing

I don't know what could be worse - living there or being called the word for inhabitant of each town

Re: I've been ignorant

So, seeing as I am on my first week of unemployment and am a bit bored today, I decided to have a quick search of silly and rude place names in the UK, for a bit of good old juvenile fun.

Great Slaughter, Shittington, Bastardstown, Catsbrain, Twatt, Lickey End, Brown Knob, South Flobbets, Pratts Bottom, Queen Camel, Quaking Houses, Thong, Tyttenhanger, Faggot, Lady's Hole, Spital Tongues, Shitlington Crags, Hairy Side, Cock Play, Fanny Barks, Wide Open, Brown Willy, Crackpot, Wet Pits, Spunkie, Buttock Point, Fatlips Castle, Wire Piddle, Barton in the Beans, Scratchy Bottom, Sandy Balls,

and last but not least..........Herberts Hole.

Personally I love "Barton in the Beans" and want to move there tomorrow.

Also have a look at -
