Hi Carmen,
Thanks for stopping by. It's an honour to have such an active moderator from other groups pop in and say hello. I hope you feel at home, and once more messages starting flowing in here you'd be welcome to do some moderating here as well.
Since you are active on mailing list I thought I'd ask you - how do you think the entire "forum experience" compares with the "mailing list" experience? I've personally always got ticked off with mailing lists because they are constantly flowing into my inbox, and I get enough email as it is! I like the way that I can subscribe to specific threads on a forum, and ignore others. Also there are nice little features like rating threads, user profiles, pictures, polls etc.
But then again - maybe I am just a bit biased

. However having fast internet access makes using a forum such as this much easier!
What are your thoughts on it? Do you think web based (and email enabled) forums will eventually replace email-only lists? I realise that forums aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I was gambling on the fact that there are other users who felt like I did about lists.
