New addition to Zurich expat community

Hi Everyone,

Just moved to Zurich from London where I lived for the past 8 years. I am of Russian origin and so my wife is. She is with our 18 month old son still in London and waiting till I find a flat for us to move in. Before that time I will be commuting to London on weekends.

Looking forward to meet the forum community over the drinks.

Re: New addition to Zurich expat community

Hi Shimla,

It is pretty much straight-forward process as long as you buy beforehand, the Lon-Zh-Lon ticket price should be a bit more than GBP 100. Buying one month in advance should be enough. Obviously, evening flights on Friday and Sunday would be more expensive than the day flights.

Depending on how flexible you can be in terms of coming in the office on Mondays, you can try early morning flighst from London Heathrow.

I fly with BA as they offer better pricing than Swiss and buy directly from their website as Opodo, Travelocity and etc. are charging booking fees on top.

Hope the info was useful. If you can further questions, send me a private message and we will chat off-line.

Cheers
Tovarij

Easyjet from zurich to gatwick can be as little as 38 quid depending on day and time, london to zurich for some reason works out more expensive (work that one out lol they obviously use more fuel flying clockwise) book early. Have to say Zurich Aiport is a delight.......your bags are waiting for you when you get to the baggage hall, the staff are friendly and the signage is easy to follow, even for us those of us that havent learnt the language yet.

Hi wangen, that post you've responded to is from 2007. I doubt OP will be reading it anytime soon.
