Sure I'll give you a few a useful & unexpected tips.

Don't eat the road kills you will make over here . Its considered mostly inappropriate ! By the way possums are replaced by cats so possum traps don't work ! Another tip start a kangaroo farm ... I can't find the meat in the local supermarkets.

We also live about 5kms from Frauenfeld and we both work there. My wife is nursing and i work in the best bike shop in town.
Frauenfeld has good sporting facilities and pretty good shopping for a smallish town. Rail connections are also good and it is close to Germany.
Carna Center is excellent butchers who sell all Aus/NZ lamb (very well priced) and Aus roo meat and have had croc meat as well on occasions.
Cheers

Re: Moving from Sydney to Frauenfeld

Hi there

We just moved to Baden area from Melbourne in January. If you've got any questions I'd be more than happy to try and answer them. Just PM me.

Are you bringing much stuff with you? If so, how are you getting it here?

Julie

Re: Moving from Sydney to Frauenfeld

welcome to EF and to CH,
what brings you to the area? Work or love? Or maybe you simply love to work?

At any rate, good luck with your move and lots of luck with the Swiss German, you'll need it as it changes depending on region.

Re: Moving from Sydney to Frauenfeld

Hello and welcome!

I moved my whole family from Sydney last summer (although to Zürich), so if you want some tips, you can pm me... We sent a few different 'packages' of items by a couple of different ways, so can comment on how they get here.
