Hello from Fribourg/Berne

Hullo,

I just landed in pretty Fribourg last Monday, to start a job....next Monday! Currently going through the joys of finding an apartment (will probably choose to live in Berne: the countryside is great, but I think I would miss the buzz and nightlife of the bigger cities!), and just now I came back from a beautiful stroll around the fields with stunning views on the pre-Alps, to be greeted by a very light snowfall today (can you believe it, after no snow all winter?) when I came back to the old part of town.

I was born in Italy, but was whisked away to my mother's warm country of Mexico when I was 9 months old, and lived there until I was 18, at which point I moved to the US. I am an electrical engineer by training, but a "software-like" engineer by profession.

I like hiking, skiing, rock climbing, fencing, going to classical music concerts, salsa dancing, travelling, and introducing absurd non-sequiturs into general conversations. If you are in the area (or even if you aren't, as it seems that everywhere is only about one or 2 hours away from Fribourg by train), drop me a line!

Hi and welcome to Fribourg, even if you plan to move to Bern.
It sounds like we have a few things in common (electrical engineering), so if you ever need a rant about life, give me a shout.

I am also living in Fribourg in an old part of town. And do be perfectly honest I can't wait to move out and change the location. It's a very beautiful town, mais the people r so god damn cold and no fun. Each time I go out I get fed up and dissapointed it looks like ........well I should stop complaining and do st about my situation here. Looking for a very open minded people with respect to a good music.

well if you consider an hour by car not that far, than i guess you are right. , in Canada we say "just down the road".

(has the star trek beaming station been invented in CH that I haven't heard about?) 9hours to T.O. from Zürich isn't exactly quick to me.
well, in reality, not with the internet.
