I'm Irish and moved to Basel 2 months ago with my Spanish partner. We moved as he got a job here although I am not working yet. At the moment I'm trying to enjoy getting to know the area before I hopefully get a job. All going ok so far!

What are you planning for your free time, I think the best thing that you can do is start learning language (yes German or swiss german).
This will increase your chances of integration and finding a job.

I'm going to German classes everyday so it's giving me plenty to do. Have also met some people in the classe so spend time with them exploring the area.
