Lausanne by Springtime

Hello,

I will be re-locating from Cambridge, MA to Lausanne by sometime next spring, along with my wife, Nelly, a Valaisanne, and our two daughters.

I would love to hear from people who are into:

Theater (I'm an actor)
Want to work on presentation skills (I'm looking for a niche doing voice coaching)
Educating their children (we plan to send ours to school )
Soccer (for people 40+)
Chess
Yoga (I've done an Astanga teacher training course, and now I need to get my practice back in gear, after being Mr. Mom for the last few years).
Learning French (Seems sensible).

Look forward to hearing from one and all.

Jim

Welcome.
By deciphering the handle you picked, I assume (maybe incorrectly) that you are a Sephardi!
There is a pretty active Jewish community in Lausanne. As a student in Lausanne, I definitely benefited from what they offered.

Hi ch-expat,

I am not a Sephardi, but that's not far off. My Jewish roots extend back to Lithuania, and I am African American (my father's side). Thanks, for the shout out and the link.

You are truly a multi-cultural family.
It should be a great experience for your kids to learn or perfect their French and also to discover their Swiss roots. Switzerland is also a conveniently located hub to go and discover Europe.
My kids are born and raised in the US (so is my wife) but are fascinated by their Swiss heritage and are very proud of their shiny red passports.

Welcome to EF Swissish, Nice avatar by the way and interesting message.

How about teaching theatre/drama class in the private schools around Swiss Romande ? Worth a try if you have qualifications.

Hope you and your family enjoy it here.

Hello! Is there an active Jewish community in Geneva? I am studying here for the next two months and would love to get involved. I saw a synagogue in town but it was closed for renovations. Thanks! Samantha
