You're correct, just like in the book, Animal Farm....some are just more unique than others.

Tickets booked for February so that Mrs Rockspider and Jors Trulie can soak up some of the "other" good stuff in life too. Karoo-skapie-oppi-spit with plenty of Tafel Lagers and good SA wine to wash it down with, sounds like a very nice how-do-you-do, or rather....howzit my china's.

O ja, the Bulls rulz!

Howzit mah chinas!

Where are you staying? Im currently in Winterthur at the moment, haven't met any S Africans however I suspect there are quite a few in Baden as everytime I go to the Pickwicks there, a barman or waitress will ask if im S African. How have you been finding Switzerland? I think the hardest thing for me is to find a good piece of meet for the braai. I dont think it exists here!

Re: Any South Africans in Switzerland (CH) ???

We have been in Swiss for one year now - we live in Lausanne.....and sadly....the only Saffers we have met, were in Nyon at the Fisherman's watching the rugby...(still waiting to hear from them, though...)

At least I've found Savannah, SA Wine, Boerewors(not as good as SA, but it does the job) and chutney. The only thing im stilll not finding is some brandy...I tried the French ones, but they are definitely not the same as ours!

Re: Any South Africans in Switzerland (CH) ???

Tomorrow at Bart's pub, the Shamrock Pub, Wollishofen (end of tram line #7) there'll be quite an amount of Saffers present from 5'eisch for T20's and rugga from 9'eisch Bokke vs. France.

Jors Troolie has other commitments, and will unfortunately not be able to make it, was there last Friday though, head still hurts! Quite vocal enough without me, so just introduce yourselves, and....actually a nice bunch all around.

Enjoy, and remember....a braaivleis sonnir 'n worsie isn't a braaivleis'ie!

Vat vas!
Bokke'r-jol!!! (cause I doubt boknaai's allowed on these hallowed sight... er website.)

Edit: OK, on second thoughts, I'd be able to make it from 4ish till 6, so I'll be the there to buy a beer or three for anyone interested to say hi, I'll answer to Rockspider. :E

Re: Any South Africans in Switzerland (CH) ???

it's quite funny but us Saffers tend to be a bit shy when abroad. Very wierd considering the generally gregarious nature attributed to us because of all the brandewyn, boerewors and beer..... History perhaps!?

Re: Any South Africans in Switzerland (CH) ???

copes, you're so right...but, in good tradition, seeing that I had a beer or two earlier, I'd refrain from getting philsophical tonight.

Low-key or reserved perchance, observing.... apt words to describe us? Or just "more special"?

Re: Any South Africans in Switzerland (CH) ???

On the top bar there is a couple of menu items. From left to right they read (for me anyway) "Home", "My Settings", "FAQ", "Chat", "Community" and so on.
Select "Community"
Select "Social Groups"
This will take you to the groups section of the forum
Select a group of your choice
In the top right (I think) there will be the word "Join"
Click on that and wait

Hope this helps
