I worked at UBS while we lived in Zurich. We were active in the Zurich expat organizations, and the expats' weekly happy hours. My wife found the (american?) women's club and their orientation program helpful, as was a german language course with Migros. Before departing, she had participated in creating a website for new expats, but I think it evolved into a social calendar.

We are back in Colorado now, and will contribute to the forum as we are able.
