New to the forum

Hey everyone!
I have just moved to Zurich with my boyfriend and have been told by many that it is a good idea to join this online community. Have been searching through it for tips on furniture shopping and how not to completely embarrass myself while mingling with the Swiss. Thought it would be a good idea to jump in and introduce myself. I don't know anyone in Zurich and would love get to know people. I've been wandering the streets with my dog during the days, trying to familiarize myself with the city, and so far have come to the conclusion that Zurich is
A) expensive
and
B) full of social rules I don't understand.

Laundry, is the first that comes to mind, but I will spare you all my opinions on that as it is likely you have had similar experiences and are far more experienced in the art of integrating oneself into Swiss-life. Always looking for tips and advice, and of course, always willing to laugh.

Laundry's definitely the key. Once you've sorted that out, social integration will surely follow.

Thanks! Have managed to irritate the HausFrau on several occasions already. I'm thinking we'll either end up on good terms-or a newer, shinier neighbor will move in and I'll be replaced as the number one irritant of the building.

Thanks for the tip! Have a friend coming in from Lugano so might just come out if we don't get scared off by the cold weather...
