New in Berne - Hello everyone :)

Hi,

I've moved to Berne about three months ago and have now decided to join this forum.

I'm originally from Germany, but have lived in Dublin for the last five years. So I would be thrilled to get to met some Irish folks. But everyone's welcome, really.

Berne is a wonderful city, and it will be quite a change from Dublin.

Welcome to Switzerland! Try the Pickwick Pub there in Bern. You
are bound to find a couple of Irish.

Where can we watch rugby in berne?

Hello dear Rugby friends and fans in Lausanne and environs, Salute Notre rugby fraternité Lausannoise…

This weekend plans to be a great weekend for watching great Rugby with games playing live on both Friday evening and Saturday afternoons.

We will be opening up the Lausanne Rugby clubrooms on Friday evening from 19h00 and on Saturday from 13h30. We have no official closing time, but will probably try to make the last bus into town at around midnight on both nights. Please see the attached map for directions. Get off the #1 bus at Blecherette, and we’re across the road, in the old airport.

We will be serving hot food on both days, so come hungry and thirsty, and you’ll go home satiated…..

We will be recording all matches, and look forward to beginning a bit of an archive so we can recall past glories in the future…

This Friday 26th we have
6 Nations:
Wales v France in Cardiff, kicking off at 20h30
Super 14:
Stormers v Brumbies kicking off at 20h10 (will be recorded)
Crusaders v Sharks kicking off at 20h30 (will probably not be recorded)

On Saturday 27th we have
6 Nations:
Italy v Scotland kicking off at 14h00
England v Ireland Kicking off at 16h30
Super 14: Cheaters v Highlanders Kicking off18h00
Reds v Blues kicking off at 19h40 (will be recorded)
Salut tous,
Stuart Kull

This is just great - i will join you all in April. 5 weeks to go and then I arrive in Bern as well. Do you have kids and if so where did you put them in school? Thank you as well for the yahoogroups - that is brilliant.

Re: New in Berne - Hello everyone :)

Given the nature of this topic I want to post a request/enquiry: Is anyone (in Bern specifically) able to play any Irish music? I play Irish traditional flute and have always enjoyed a good session. I've let it slip these past few years and I now have the opportunity to pick it back up. If anyone is interested and has an instrument - accordian, fiddle, whistle, whatever - please gimme a shout and we can arrange a session - I think that they'd be up for it in Mr. Pickwicks.
