Hi All,
I probably should apologize for not introducing myself earlier (since I have already posted a few times in this forum), but I guess better later than never

I am in my early 40s, married and with two daughters (6 and 12). We have lived in Northern California (Silicon Valley) for the last 10 years or so. Recently my company (headquartered in Switzerland, near Zurich) offered me a rellocation to Switzerland.
In the beginning we were thrilled - we were very ecstatic about it and we were making all kind of plans... As things developed however, we grew more and more worrying about all kinds of things - the language (which we don't speak but will have to), the fact that the kids might be put in a disadvantageous situation (because of the early "channeling" to Gymnasium vs vocational schools and its consequences for going to university), the fact that even my company invited me to Switzerland, they showed a great deal of reluctance making it happen.
I know that it is normal to worry (and I worry a lot!) but at this point we are so confused that we are not even sure if we want it or not. We have been emotionally entangled with this issue for half a year now and any way out of it seems to be a great relief for all of us!
Anyway, I am glad that I found this forum and want to thank all of you who already answered some of my questions... Maybe we should jump - this is the only way to find out whether we were wrong or right. Just affraid of the price that we might have to pay.
Thanks
