Sigh..

Christmas in Australia SUCKS after having spent Christmas in CH

*try and remember the bad stuff**try and remember the bad stuff**try and remember the bad stuff*

Wish it wasnt so far away, I'd visit all the time!

If anyone needs somebody to house-sit let me know
It's been nearly 2 years surely I nearly deserve a visit..

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying the cold I think my entire chest and shoulders are about to peel away (they've already started) I got so sunburnt on Christmas day. Hot Christmases are the worst!
Hello, so nice to hear from you again. Happy New Year to youas well.

Having lived in the US for over a year I really am starting to wonder if CH doesn't have it right at least half of the time. At least I knew that everyone knew the rules. Over here no one knows. No one cares. And no one knows that they don't know and they don't care about that either.

Sigh! I think I got all swissified.

Hey.. yeah so I lied about going to get some sleep..
Well I was going to but then I realised there's a "Complains Corner" so hoped maybe something in there would remind me why CH didnt suit me.. but mainly it's people complaining about iPhones and facebook and stuff..

Hmm yes the nosey neighbours.. yeah yeah.. but I mean.. our neighbour here is a German guy who is super annoying (sorry man) and has married this extremely noisy Thai lady who doesnt speak English and is constantly yelling and yelling and yelling and it just comes straight through our windows/ it sounds like she's inside our house. Soo.. neighbours can suck anywhere..

Hmm yes no free bottles of water in restaurants. My Aussie friend got super p*ssed about that when she visited too I have too much of a sweet tooth to drink water anyway so makes no difference to me

Pretty sick of going to a Surf Club for dinner and getting the "Are you a member?" question at the door.. like.. no.. you're a restaurant.. I'm not a member of a restaurant.. you charge like an extra 10% for non-members to eat/drink there anyway so can you just get off my back?
"Oh but your drivers licence shows you live in Mudgeeraba.. that's actually within the 10km radius so you have to be a member"
"But it's more than 10kms away"
"Well technically, yes.. but rules is rules"
"But.. huh?"

Anyway I saw a cute quote on facebook the other day "you may think the grass is greener on the other side. but if you take the time to water your own grass it would be just as green".. maybe I'll just try focus on that and burn all my photos of CH so I can't look at them and make myself sad anymore

I know what you mean and a majority of the time I think you are/were right. But having lived "en la Suisse" for over two years, now that I am back in the states I find myself ranting to myself, "Don't these idiots know the bleeding rules?!?!".

I even find myself some times thinking that it wouldn't be so bad if Home Depot wasn't open all Saturday and Sunday.

After all it is New Years Day and I went shopping today. I still think I am having reverse culture shock!
