Hello all,

I just arrived in Zürich yesterday, having moved here after finishing grad school in Ann Arbor, MI. I'll be here for a couple of years, probably, doing research as postdoc at an ETH institute at Irchelpark. As I have no German skills (yet?), I can't thank the members of this forum enough for their useful advice and tips. I look forward to learning a lot more about this place in the months to come, in no small part here!

I see your post was almost a year ago, I will start my new job at PSI-ETH next month and wanted to know more about academia salary range & what to expect?
I'm looking for the answer of this question for a while, how is the lifestyle of postdoc at ETH compared to any US university or National Lab. ? Salary, work load?, culture ?

I spent some time in Ann Arbor and loved it. I would kill for a Zingerman's corned beef sandwich.
