Hello to the Forum ...

Hello Folks,
I am not new to Switzerland, been here 10 years new, but have just come across the Forum, which seems very friendly and newsy!
Spent 7 years teaching English in a private school, and am now mainly at home with my 8 year old, and lucky enough to be able to choose the projects I want to work on and the people I want to work with.
Originally from Sligo, Ireland, coming here was a big change for me, but now I wonder where I would fit in if I did return to the Emerald Isle...

Thanks to the Forum Admin, and hope to keep in touch here...

Re: Hello to the Forum ...

Thanks Folks,
for the welcoming words, especially the cead mile failte, how did you get the fadas on a continental computer?

For non-Irish speakers, cead mile failte means 100,1000 welcomes in Gaelic, and is written with special accent marks over certain letters that don't come easy on most computers...

we'll stay in touch,

Caitrin

Re: Hello to the Forum ...

Hello all!
First of all, my apology for asking something that's not related with the issue being discussed currently. I am a newbie to this Forum and I'm not allowed yet to make a new post but I have an urgent question I hope someone can help me?
My name is Kathy, just recently moved to Zurich from Indonesia. I am wondering if anyone can help me informing about an Indonesian community in Zurich? I've never met any, those I've seen - they speak Thai or Tagalok?
Another important thing is- this coming Thu is going to be the Ied day, a big Muslim celebration day and I want to do a pray-together like I used to do in Jakarta but all the mosques that I called, either they don't speak English and German, they told me it's only for MEN (huh? really?) and they're puzzled when I explained to them that in my homeland the Ied prayer is something for both.
So I am lost and confused here, and I feel kinda "lonely" in a sense that I don't know where I should go/do on the Ied day.
Any advises/input please?
Thanks sooo much in advance for your help!
Kathy
