There are a few Asian grocery stores around the main train station (HB) ... check when Swisspea's planning another Shopping Tour in the Social Events section ...

Re: Hello from a student from Malaysia!

Welcome, YC, to CH!

Keep an eye on the social calendar on this forum and the 'Foods of the world shopping tour' thread. For a start, you might want to go to the Asian grocery store in the basement of Zurich main train station (down the stairs near Platform 18, turn right).

Hope you enjoy discovering the local Swiss food, too. You might find the supermarkets here interesting if not fascinating.

What is your field of study, by the way?

Re: Hello from a student from Malaysia!

Selamat Datang! Welcome to Switzerland and to the forum and a good start at the ETH!

As has been said you should find a few Asian grocery stores in Zurich.

Restaurants are a bit harder. There are many of them, but most serve "European versions" of Asian food. A good Chinese restaurant is the "Beyond" just behind the Zurich main station (www.restaurant-beyond.ch) .
I just spent a week eating at a Malaysian restaurant a bit outside of Zurich, as I had a seminar nearby: The "Hotwok" in Regensdorf (http://www.hotwok.ch/index.php?optio...id=1&Itemid=55) ...

Happy settling in!
