| | From Egypt
Hello everyone,
I have been following the forums for quite a little while now, I even made a few posts, I just realized I haven't introduced myself yet , where are my manners!
My name is Abdallah, I come from Egypt. The "ah" at the end of my name usually deceives people into thinking I am a girl, I am actually a 22 year old guy. I currently live in Lausanne and work at the EPFL. I have been here for 2.5 months and I lived in Zurich before (for 3 months).
I like reading, volleyball, Capoeira and pool (and most other sports generally). I love snowboarding although I have done it only twice! I speak Arabic (well Egyptian..), English, German, petit peu French (currently learning) and little bit of Farsi.
Most of my coworkers live in France and many of the guys I know from volleyball or other sports are very busy juggling a job and school, thus, it gets pretty lonely sometimes.. So if you are in Lausanne and ever feel bored, drop me a few lines .
Sorry for the long introduction .

Welcome to the forum!
Alas, I only speak a few words of Arabic (by coincidence, today I discovered the notes I made when I took an Arabic course at night school a few years ago) and not a single word of Egyptian Arabic, but merhaba, all the same. |

If ever you come to Zürich, pop into Sherif's Bar near Stauffacher. Sherif, the guy who runs it is Egyptian and really friendly. You often meet expats there too though not many EFers, at least none that I recognise..

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!!
It seems more people tried, at some point int time, learning Arabic. I was hesitant to post here.
@ amogles
That's very interesting, I passed by Stauffacher for 3 months day and night and never knew that. Next time, I'll make sure I'll pass by .
@ HollidayG
I'll sure do .
@ Mowvich
Wow, I've never met a Sharmer (despite the fact that's Egypt's most awesome city!). I am usually around in Geneve during weekends.. Let's arrange something.
