Australian in Lausanne

G'day All,

Just wanted to say hello

I just moved here from Australia and seeking people who might have the same interests as I.

I'm an indoor and outdoor person. Love the natural beauty and enjoy it through hiking, camping, rock climbing, biking and swimming. However I also love the indoors including nights at the pub, pool, backgammon, card games, computer and console games, movies etc.

Interested in any of these activities and/or know good groups to meet. Please let me know.

Cheers
Jo

Hi Jo,

Welcome to the EF.

Given your listed interests you should fit right in anywhere.

I've only been to Lausanne twice but it seems great.

Anyway, nothing in Switzerland if far away so get out there and have a look around.

Keep your eyes peeled on the EF social events pages if you are in new towns and are looking for something to do. This is a good crowd here.

Hope you settle in now.

I appologise for the next 9 months of weather in advance.

From a Fellow Aussie

Bill

Welcome to Lausanne!

It's a great place to live. The city itself is cool and the mountains are close.

Hi Jo- and welcome to Lausanne! I'm reasonably new here, about 6 weeks already, and I think it's a great place to live!

As an Aussie, you'll surely be interested in the Autumn internationals coming up v soon - I hear the Great Escape is a good place to watch, so let me know if you fancy meeting up for a game and some good-natured banter (or indeed just a coffee or a glass of wine somewhere at some point!)

Re: Australian in Lausanne

A drink at the Great Escape could be good. Why don't you tell me more about yourself?

Re: Australian in Lausanne

Hi
If you're an outdoor person, join the Swiss Alpine Club (Club Alpin Suisse). It's very cheap and they organise activities everyday, not only skiing! Hiking, snowshoes, mountain climbing etc... If you are not fit, start with low level outings, they are tough already!
Cheers
