Electronic transformer/adapter for Ikea 365+ BRASA reading light, Zurich

I have one of the IKEA 365+ BRASA reading light which happens to have an adapter / transformer as shown here.

The transformer got misplaced and am unable to find it on the market. I have checked with IKEA and they don't sell it as an accessory (which makes this 100 CHF reading light useless ). I also checked with conrad, mediamarkt and jumbo in case they have something that could be useful but no luck there too.

So, if anyone has a spare one lying around due to whatever reason or has an idea how to fix this by a DIY-approach (the voltage/amp ratings are visible on the picture), please PM me. Thanks!

More info:
The wire from the light to the adapter has 3 flat pins (as shown here).
The bulb used is the default one, i.e. Halogen bulb 12V with max wattage of 35W.

You might try a transformer like this one:
http://www.conrad.ch/ce/de/product/4...12-VDC-3000-mA

Cut the round end off of this adapter's cable, cut the 3-prong plug off of your lamp cord, strip the wires on both ends and twist together to test it. You're only dealing with 12VDC, so it's not too dangerous. Worst case you get the polarity backwards and it won't light, just reverse the wires.

If the test works, solder the wires together and cover with electrical tape.

I have one of these lamps where the transformer has stopped working.
It is rated 12v ac not dc, although this may not matter as it is powering a light bulb

I saw your message only now. Do you still have it by any chance?

Yes I do but it is of no use without a working transformer
