Help an international student - need sofa/chair and carpet (+ lamp and poster)

Hello all

I looked here quite few times for help and stuff, and in most cases people really helped. I am not really happy I have to ask again, but this is my life right now. Being international student, having to pay all for myself (by myself), and all that by working max 15 hrs/week... it's not that great. But I can make it! However, I cannot basically afford myself anything out of necessaries.

So, to make my room look at least little bit nicer, I am looking for some nice small carpet (not too big) and some char or small sofa. Nothing fancy since I really cannot pay that much. What would be also nice is big standing lamp (those of 1.5 meters or so).

I will be able to come for carpet and lamp to most of Zurich, but for chair, since probably I cannot use public transport (right?), I guess Zuri West + Kreis 9 is only good ones for me.

PS. oh and yeah, if someone has some nice posters of nature, or maps (of decent quality) - CH, world, Europe... It would my empty walls prettier so, check if you have any and please contact me.

Thank you for reading and not judging me

PS2. one important thing. If you give me any of these things, or sell cheaply, I will - after I don't need this anymore, give it away for free. I will not make any profit of it, at least money-wise

Yes, as well as Facebook group.

Unfortunately, either there is no stuff or its sold for too high price (for me at least).

I can wait, since I honestly cannot save that much money.

Free stuff isn't for sale. It's free. You just have to arrange to collect/pick it up.

Re: Help an international student - need sofa/chair and carpet (+ lamp and poster)

I have a (what I consider to be a nice one) chair including pouf for you, I managed to get it home by walking and public transport, so you should be able to manage to drag it home using the same way (and lucky for you it is downhill where I had to do it all uphill)

Am in Sweden now and cannot post pictures earlier than the 4th of January.

Reason we get rid of it is that we like a lot of free space in the house and we are getting a new cat including scratch pole and climbing/resting thing which has to go in that corner.

Thank you a lot, but I already found 2 standing lamps here

Again, thanks!

Now I have nice carpet and lamps. I am in no hurry, but if anyone reads this and have some sofa or armchair, that would really help. Again, since I will use manpower (and its mine) to carry it, it cannot be outside of Kreis 9 (as I suppose it's not allowed to transport it in trams - maybe for chair its ok?).

As for posters, again, if some of you have nice pictures/posters (big ones, frame is not needed), please contact me.

Transporting a big chair in the bus or tram is no issue as long as you do it outside of the busy hours. When I brought mine home I experienced the most comfortable bus and train ride ever, hanging in my comfy chair with my legs on a pouf, should bring them more often on long rides

And you need a valid ticket for large items.

Please provide me a link which states clearly that this is true?

Per my understanding as long as it does not take a chair, and nobody is bothered/there is enough space there is no ticket needed. (else they could hand out a load of fines at every train leaving near an Ikea.)

No problem there, that is a very large chair if it exceeds this.

Personal and undefined, but no problem there since I can carry it with one hand.

My chair and for my own use, so all good.

I have somehow missed this one, was really busy this holidays.

I will check into this and contact you. Big thank you!

So far I've found nice small couch, carpet and 2 lamps. We have really nice people here who help either with advice or with giving away nice things.

hi, are you still looking for some chairs and tables?
I have 2 metal chairs and a black (2mx1m) simple table for low price.
(something for free: a white simple shelf (originally used in the bathroom)
and some free marker pens or folders if you need for your study...)
