WTB: "Pentalobe" tool for Apple MacBook screws

I'm interested in borrowing, buying, renting an Apple security screw compatible tool. It's commonly referred to as a "pentalobe" tool. It can be a bit or driver. I need to non destructively remove the screws and be able to reuse them.

I have other tools and methods that will allow me to remove the screws, but not as conveniently or cosmetically nice as the correct tool.

In this case it will be used for a MacBook Pro.

Thanks.

Tools from ifixit are available from digitec, conrad or their eu store:

The Pentalobe tool is available from " apfelkiste" for example:

Re: WTB: "Pentalobe" tool for Apple MacBook screws

The shipping cost is kind of annoying. Maybe I go to Obi. From the catalog it appears this will work. They have two versions. Has anyone used with a MacBook? I’m not certain of the screw size but think it is 1,2. The smaller size is for the phone I believe.

Re: WTB: "Pentalobe" tool for Apple MacBook screws

I got mine from China (together with the new battery I installed). If you go for the cheap option: make sure you buy two or three. I did not fix a pro, but an old version Air. The screws on the Air were super hard to remove (I think some sort of glue is added) and in combination with a crap tool did I manage to need two tools for one repair… still absolutely worth it.

Re: WTB: "Pentalobe" tool for Apple MacBook screws

Well, the PB Swiss 169 v2. works perfectly for MacBook. The version 1 does not have the Pentalobe bits. The packaging look identical though. The Jumbo in Hinwil had it on the shelf for 18CHF or so. It's actually a pretty well designed tool and expect it to end up being pretty useful.

Thanks for all of the inputs.
