I am searching for a (preferably native Swiss German or German speaking) nanny/au pair to work with our family either part-time or full-time (live-in is possible). Most importantly you must be available in the afternoons/early evenings and occasionally nights and weekends. Thanks for the clarification - I haven't had a nanny/au pair before and thought the difference was based on years of experience, not language. Although I would prefer a German-speaking nanny, I would be open an english-speaking au pair as well.

Nannies are not affected by this, only au pairs.

You should also check, if you have a B permit, whether you canton allows you to have an au pair. Some cantons restrict these to C permit holders only.

Yes, I understood that. It doesn't need to be their native language, but they must be able to at least conversationally speak either German or English or we wouldn't be able to communicate at all.

The au pair is with you partly to learn a Swiss language which in your part of the country will be German. That's why you're paying for a language course for them.
