Au pair offers babysitting

Hello everybody!
I am an au pair in Zurich, and i have 4 free days a week, Tuesday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I would like to help families in need of a babysitter and make some extra money. We are saving up with friends to visit Hawaii in the summer, so i have a great motivation! I am looking for something in the long term, but ocassionally helping can also be an option.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Greetings,
YasminMelanie

Re: Au pair offers babysitting

Um, let me get this straight. You are/were a PhD student, an executive manager, marketing promotions manager, interpreter and now you're an au pair? Considering you were recently going to get married (Sept 16) and live here with your husband I think being an au pair may be a bit difficult.

An au pair is someone who lives with a family mainly to do a language course as well as help out around the house, look after the kids under supervision, etc. Can't see you having 4 free days a week in that case.

Re: Au pair offers babysitting

Hi Medea! wow, thats a thorough research. Impressive.
1. yes, i just finished my PhD, and before starting all the procedure of defending the title, i took a year off, to do something new. Starting from scratch to say so. Were hesitating between volunteering somewhere and the au pair program.
2. yes, i got married a few months ago, and my husband is super supportive of my wishes - all is working.
3. I have a wonderful family, i really feel like i am on a vacation for a year. The kids are lovely, the parents are so sweet, and i really dont feel like i am working my ass off. I have a studio apart from the house, so we both can have our privacy, several german lessons a week, and as the kids are 2 full days in Krippe, plus adding the weekend, i dont see why would i not have 4 free days.

At least you are not over - worked like most Aupairs I know. PM me and I can send you a list of groups and sites to join that will help you get some extra babysitting.

Re: Au pair offers babysitting

Definitely not overworked. They are really amazing. I feel like a member of the family and not an employee, which is very nice
Sent you a PM.
Thank you!

Re: Au pair offers babysitting

Hello! We are looking for a random babysitter in Schlieren for our 2 year old twins. If interested please send me your CV. It wouldn't be a regular job but definitely some hours between Apr 17-May 7 when our regular babysitter is on holiday. Thank you.
