According to my latest in depth research, a policeman blows up the shark by shooting at a gas cylinder lodged in the sharks mouth. Future forensics will suggest it was an Arab gas cylinder and a US manufactured bullet fired by an Iranian medium callibre revolver.

I say leave those sharks alone. That is their natural habitat. If swimmers do not want to be eaten, then don't swim there. Simples!

Sharm el Sheik is about as natural as Disneyland. Attacks on humans are very rare and experts are discussing several theories:
- sharks typically attack more often where they have been attracted with bait before - to make a good show for the tourists.
- locals say that locals throw animal carcasses away into the sea and that sharks therefore maybe got used to eat slowly floating targets...

In short: This is one of the most dived areas in the world, but the shark(s?) has not attacked a single diver... it went exclusively for swimmers and snorklers on the surface. That is not exactly natural behaviour for oceanic whit tips. This does not seem to be a problem of humans suddenly entering a sharks habitat, there is something else going wrong.

But surely tourists aren't kosher!

Sounds like the sharks are foraging. Their food source probably died out, probably due to an oil spill. Typical behavior when an eco balance is disturbed.

I did have more than 3000 dives in the red sea area alone and specifically in Gulf of Aqaba, dealing with a variety of sharks species, white tips, black tips and tiger sharks (which are suspected in the attacks), they are definitely not aggressive sharks by nature and very approachable with care, they live between 20 to 60 m depth, and prefer to rest on the seabed, they attack in one of only 2 cases, either to hunt which only happens in groups or when facing danger.

In this recent attacks series, there's one of 2 explanations:

1. These 1 or 2 sharks who are performing the attacks have been separated from their own group due to weather conditions or any other natural / un natural phenomena therefore they started to starve which led them to attack any moving objects assuming is food or potential danger, being near shore and in shallow waters, swimmers and snorkelers are the highest candidates to be attacked.
   
2. These sharks have been triggered by some sort of bat across the shores, which relocated them to their new environment and now the attacks are happening due to hunger and danger alert from moving objects.

It's gonna be a very hard process to locate these sharks as the area where the attacks happened is really wide and they could be anywhere.

The only way i would think of to maybe get these sharks of the area is broadcast dolphin whistles recording underwater, as sharks tend to fear dolphins specially when they are individuals, though this would trigger lots of dolphins to the shore

Other option is to create bate traps (floating cages with food inside), but this can either get them captured or attract more sharks from outside the area.
