Poor Cheryl Cole was kicked out of X Factor USA. Do you understand her accent.
I'm not a Geordie so I struggle, so maybe the America did have a point.

I find it a little odd that anyone who wanted to "make it in America" would not follow the example of the thousands before her and take elocution lessons to get rid of a thick colloquial accent.
Other than thinking she is a beautiful woman i'm really not a fan of her, her behaviour on X-Factor has been unfair, bordering on cheating, and she seems to be turning into a bit of a diva now that her fame has ballooned.

I am not a Geordie either, nor am I english but I have no problems what so ever understanding her.
My husband loves her accent, he says its melodious (like eh?!!!) then again he is in love with the Scottish and Northern Irish accents too.
BTW porsch, she didnt refuse elocution lessons. The problem is that the head of FOX wasnt impressed and after reviewing the first few tapes, he decided to axe her. Harsh but she shouldnt be acting like a petulant child hiding in her flat and not talking to anyone either. It is what it is - a tough industry.

I did think he was looking at me funny when we met
I think there's more at play here than just her accent. 99% of the US doesn't know who she is or why she should be seen as some sort of music expert that can judge and mentor on a music talent show in the US. From the limited reports I read, she came across as too mean which is the exact opposite of what she's been on the UK X Factor. Perhaps she was set up by the producers to create drama and headlines...who knows.
If an American pop star who was virtually unknown in the UK was hired then fired as a judge on the UK X Factor, we'd have loads of people on the forum decrying the arrogance of the American pop star for thinking they can hop across the pond and expect success. Why haven't we heard the same about Cheryl here?
