Like the EF I suppose.

Some loony says something in the paper and half this forum screams as if it's already passed into law.
Oi! Who are you calling a looney; have you checked my sources?

I didn't realise that the SVP read the UK's Daily Mail:

Woman gives birth on tourist visa (not actually sitting on the visa)

Who is they.

More precisely, are you sure it's the same they?
Surely, you're not denying that the insurance lobbies are powerful here? Because that was my point.

After reading this thread, I'm starting to think the SVP was right all along.

I can imagine Carlos doing a fist-pump as soon as he saw Nil's reply after only 3 minutes. Hook, line, and sinker.
Well, yes, but this had me in stitches for a while...

Was worth the neg rep (although the language it came with made me blush).

And of course they want abortion to be taken out of the Insurance system and to be paid by the woman herself, whatever the circumstances.
THAT bit is actually true.

Must say, although it was funny in a way- I resent being highjacked and having to force quit out of a thread.

You just have to keep going. You can quit eventually. Why don't you try it now?

Point is - I should be able to quit when I want to, not when YOU choose, really - why do I have to just keep going, if I do not wish to. And shouldn't have to put up with unwanted advertising when I do force quit. Sorry.

Good try.
You should have used a url-shortener though...
The ones in the "know", know better than to not look before they click.
Regretably, Mods have to check these things out and I find it extremely unfunny.

Just read this in the news – summary:

Toni Bruner, leader of the SVP says he wants foreign women who come to CH pregnant or fall pregnant within 1 year, to pay double the insurance costs to cover the costs of “free and high quality” healthcare that they can get. After all, he reckons that they are getting benefit for two people: the mother and the baby…

A bit like only getting AHV benefits if you’ve been here for the 12-18 month entitlement delay thingy.

I’m curious to see the next depiction of their bull and cow, and see how that works out on the posters…

Link removed by Longbyt. If this is your idea of a joke, it certainly isn't mine.
I seemed to have messed things up a little (understatement of the year) here. Carlos R's idea of a funny link didn't appeal to everyone, the post was reported. Being no computer specialist, I am VERY wary of things which 'happen' on my screen without me wanting them to so I thought removal of all the links the best policy.
However, I removed them without noticing that the Thread was in Jokes/Funnies. Looks like I was wrong to edit it, but as I have now mucked up the Thread completely, Carlos R suggests I close it.

In my defence I must say that it would not be the first time that we have had links which REALLY needed removing. Well, you cannot win them all.
