No, It's all about Daft Punk, basically
That's another one... I have 2 huge Daft Punk fanatics telling me how gorgeous the soundtrack is, but I didn't notice anything mind-blowing I think I am getting a little bit too demanding. It used to be easier to make a movie that I enjoyed

(though until now only 2 movies left me glued to my chair in awe because of the first 2 minutes (of soundtrack))

I liked the transport ships though... Very 80's

And speaking of movies on the weekend...
I got Scott Pilgrim vs The World...and its AWESOME !!!
Ok, I know we kinda ruled to leave Twilight out of this thread, but I haven't felt so bored since Twilight during a movie (and that one had half naked boys running around). It might have to do with the main actor, though. I really can't stand the guy...

The concept of Scott Pilgrim was good, but the way they put it together, specially the humor, was very... ahem.. flat (the word of the day). I mean, common!!!!!! "What [instrument] do you play?" "Zelda, Tetris, etc"? Even my 4 year old cousin can do better than that

Agreed it was not so well written. But I found the way it was pictured to be pretty cool. Comic book style sound effects...cross fading stories...speech narration...was really cool. Oh, and her too.
In short, it was something done different and, for a change, done well.

HI FIVE!!!!

When a friend of mine came to my house, he checked my CDs for music and his only comment was: "Do you have anything less than 20 years old?"

P.S.: "IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! TADA DAH, TA DA DA DA DUUUUUUUUM"

Checked her profile. They're making a prequel to The Thing? It better be bloody good, The Thing is one of my all-time favourite films.

Awww...I don't know man.
A lot of remakes of classics have not been so great recently.
"Day the Earth Stood Still"..."Wolfman"...

I really really hope that they don't mess this one.

It is set just a day or so before the original movie at the other camp that found the Alien craft. Release date is Oct 2011
Should be good if done properly.

I just watched the trailer for the Avengers movie, that looks cool.

It's a prequel not a remake. It's set at the Norwegian camp shown at the start of the original movie. Agreed with the two other movie you mentioned though. I'd add War of the Worlds as well.

Nope, I tend to have Senses Working Overtime playing in my head. That or anything by OMD.

For the record, American 80's music sucks.

War of the Worlds...yeah I forgot that disaster.
I watched the remake again (don't ask me why) a few days ago...yep...still crap.
Next time I will try to watch it drunk...maybe it will turn out better.

Watched Battle of Los Angeles again last night; probably the best Alien-invasion themed movie of recent years.

Oh come on man.
This is what I had to say about it here :

TBH, I found it better than Battle:LA, in parts. The creatures were more well thought out and more diverse. Creature design and CGI was somehow better. Even the ending was more intriguing.

Battle:LA had Michelle Rodriguez, Michael Pena and Aaron Eckhart, all of whom were, IMO underutilized.

And with movies like District 9, maybe I just expect more.
And I still stand by it.
If skyline had those resources behind it, it would have been a total WIN !!!
