I loved Futurama! I was quite happy to hear they are continuing it!

There is one episode, though, which I HATED. It still makes me uber-utter-crazy sad. The one that Fry finds his old dog inside cement, but instead of reviving him, he decides to leave it alone, thinking the dog won't remember him anymore. And ends up with the saddest scene ever made on a cartoon of the dog waiting for Fry to come. Even Ai no Kusabi's end was not that depressing!
Saddest cartoon scene ever ??? You obviously have not seen "The Lion King" when Mufasa (Simba's Dad) dies...

I will not comment on that. Lion King and the Last of the Mohicans are two movies I refuse to talk about and that no one is allowed to watch with me (so i don't go through embarrasing moments).

I saw Bambi when I was 5 years old. I actually do not remember the film. But I burst into tears with the opening scene of "The Bear" though, with a similar killing... Freaking kid movies…

That is just cute!

Lion King (and all other Disney movies) have the advantage that if you, as a 14 year old, start crying, no one will notice in the middle of the wails and tantrums of the 6 year olds...

LOL no… I have a projector, which gives me a 3 meter wide TV ^^ Only problem is not all DVDs are playable on a laptop… Sometimes I have to download a movie I just bought because the f@cking copy protection won’t let me read it (like the Walking Castle DVD I got for my birthday… /sigh).

Beamer = awesome

For copy protected dvds, download VLC player. It can play region coded / copy protected dvds as well. I used it to play some Region 1 encoded dvds on my laptop which has a region 2 dvd player.

I use VLC The problem is the discs simply don't play in the laptop DVD drive (it just makes weird noises and flips around like a fish out of water). It did work on the very very old DVD drive from the now defunt table computer, though...

Re: How to annoy a nerd

All DVDs I have are from the same region (2) as my laptop. They are all bought in Portugal or Germany (as in made in those countries, not simply imported there).

I was told these specific DVDs that do not work exploit a "failure" writing system, which are ignored in DVD players and old DVD drives, but a more sensible modern computer drive is not able to read it because the error correction code starts going haywire...

But since I only get to know it after I opened the case and tried to play it, I can't give them back...

I finally finished my Sopranos marathon this Saturday. Caught between the possibility of 24 (which dead bores me) and Weeds (can't see the point), I started watching SGU instead.

I have to say that after 9 years of rinse and repeat from SG1 and "please, someone get me out of this series" Atlantis, SGU left quite a good impression on the 3 first episodes. The fact that I am siding with the crazy scientist only means he is going to die soon, the fact that the black soldier disturbs me means he will last till the end of the series, and the math student/comic relief is so cliché it’s probably going to bore me to death. But, anyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyway... Up till 3rd episode would advise (which I wouldn't do with SG1 post season 2 or any of Atlantis).

The thing that annoys me the most as a nerd, is filling one comic-relief character with all those moronic clichés “non-nerds” expect from nerds in general. Special with this ridiculous fixation to Planet of the Apes (I guess Star Wars references wouldn’t be really that “original”).
I have the complete "Red Dwarf" Series. Best SF ever (may contain Vindaloo). If you like to have it for a month or two...
